PURPOSE:To eliminate the wasteful time during continuous copying and perform continuous copying rapidly by providing a detector which can detect the leading and trailing ends of recording paper in the paper feed path from a feeder to a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:A pair of feed rollers 61 which supply the transfer paper fed out from a feed table 57 or 58 are positioned to a feeder 3, and a microswitch 62 which can detect the leading and trailing ends of transfer paper is positioned in the position of these rollers 61. In the step S1, whether the leading end of the transfer paper (a) is detected with the microswitch 62 or not is checked, and when it is detected, the transfer paper (a) is fed to a photosensitive drum A. If the time from the generation of the signal detecting the leading end of the transfer paper until the generation of the signal detecting the trailing end of the same is shorter than a fixed time, a reciprocative movement electromagnetic clutch is de-energized. Thereby, jam is prevented, and the wasteful time during continuous copying is eliminated. |
