The carrying frame has two longitudinal struts (1, 2) which are releasably connected to each other by three cross arms (3). Using a container (6) a rucksack is formed. A plurality of these carrying frames can be combined to form a stretcher, a rescue ladder or a frame for an emergency tent. <IMAGE>
