PURPOSE:To facilitate operation, by detecting that an inserted transfer sheet is shorter than the given minumum length in the feed direction, automatically discharging this sheet, and making it unnecessary to remove the cover or the like of a copying machine and to take out this sheet. CONSTITUTION:The intervals of each roller 2, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14 are made small in the part near the inlet of a conveying route for feeding a manually inserted transfer sheet so as to enable conveyance of such a sheet having a much smaller length than the minimum conveyable length in the other parts in the feeding direction. When the transfer sheet inserted is shorter than the minimum length in the feeding direction, solenoid SOL is actuated with the circuit shown including switches 35, 36 to withdraw guide plate 5 to the position of a short dash line, and the transfer paper is dropped and discharged to discharge tray 37, and an operator can take it out directly from tray 37. |
