PURPOSE:To eliminate a roll rearranging apparatus for exclusive use of a spare stand, by installing at the side plane of a transverse truck a roll push-and-pull mechanism capable of carrying out the roll rearranging work upon said transverse truck, in addition to a push-and-pull mechanism for rearranging rolls and stands upon a rolling line. CONSTITUTION:At rearranging rolls of a rolling mill 1, a new roll assembly is put on a position R upon a track 17', and a metallic fitting 40 attached to the tip of a cylinder 32 is extruded so as to engage with a used old roll assembly 5 that is thereupon withdrawn as far as a position S upon a track 17. A transverse truck 7 is then transversely moved by a cylinder 10, the new roll assembly is moved from the position R to the position S, and the used old roll assembly 5 is moved from the position S to a position T; thereafter, the new roll assembly is moved from the position S to a position P in the roll stand by extruding the metallic fitting 40 attached to the tip of the cylinder 32. Then, the metallic fitting 40 is disengaged from the new roll assembly and thereby the rearranging work for rolls is completed. The rearranging work for another roll assembly 6 or another roll stand is carried out by the similar method. |
