PURPOSE:To make, illumination intensity uniform on the surface of a transmission original, by causing a fluorescent film in a vacuum vessel having one transparent face to emit the light to illuminate the transmission original on the transparent face and by leading the reflected light to a photoelectric conversion device through a light permeable window of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:When a current is flowed to filament 9, thermions are radiated; and when prescribed positive voltages are applied to grid electrode 8 and anode electrode 6, they are accelerated to strike against anode electrode 6, and light film 7 is stimulated to emit the light, and this emitted light is reflected by light reflective mirror 10 directly, and the reflected light illuminates transmission original 2 through glass substrate 5a. In this case, point P on transmission original 2 facing to the center of glass substrate 5a is illuminated most brightly, and point P seems to be a long line over the original width, and the reflected light corresponding to the contrast of white and black of transmission original 2 is led to the outside of vessel 5 through the light permeable window and is condensed by lens 3 and is focused on photoelectric conversion device 4. This light is scanned in the longitudinal direction of the image by device 4 to output a time series electric signal. |
