PURPOSE:To freeze a mold securely up to its inside evenly and rapidly by inserting the adequate number of pipes from the surface of a molded mold containing water and by immersing the mold with a refrigerant or by blowing the refrigerant into the mold via the pipes in this state. CONSTITUTION:For freezing mold 2 great in sand thickness, pipe 3 is inserted into mold 2, molded of molding sand containing water from its surface. Insertion positions (a) of pipes 3 are distributed evenly. Mold 2 having inserted pipes 3 is dipped in a refrigerant bath together with matallic mold 1. Then, mold 2 is frozen from the surface and also frozen from the inside as well through each pipe 3. Selecting the pipe diameter of pipe 3 properly eliminates the need for a treatment after pipes 3 are removed with the mold frozen, and casting is ready immediately. When supply pipes are connected to respective pipes 3 without dipping it in the refrigerant bath to freeze the mold by blowing a refrigerant into mold 2 via pipes 3 from a refrigerant supplying device, the freezing efficiency and economy are further improved. |
