PURPOSE:To prevent an electrode and recording paper from being stained by ink by detecting the arrival of a straight-advancing jet droplet at a normal position and by setting the electrode according to a detection signal. CONSTITUTION:At the time when jetting of the ink jet droplet is started, the electrode 12 is separated away from the jetting axis of the ink jet droplet by a spring. And the 2nd gutter 19, covering the part other than the normal jetting axis, receives ink in the initial period of starting of jetting. Next, when the jetting is stabilized and turns striking at a gutter 5, this is detected by a detecting circuit 16, a control circuit 17 is made to operate by the detection signal, a switching circuit 15 and a power source 14 are thereby operated, and thus an electromagnetic solenoid 13 is driven to move the electrode from a siding position and set the same. |
