PURPOSE:To make the absorption of thermal expansion that occurs in tilelike mold elements possible by beforehand holding suitable pressure-contacting forces between the mutually adjacent end faces of the multiple tilelike mold elements divided from the members in contact with molten steel. CONSTITUTION:Traveling resistance control means such as brakes are installed to the shafts 14, 14' of idle sprockets 6, 6', and these and the driving forces of driving sprockets 4, 4' are suitably balanced, thereby maintaining the pressure-coNtact forces of the end faces of tilelike mold elements 3 with respect to their moving direction constant. On the other hand, the pressure-contact forces of the elements 3 mounted to the beams 10 of endless tracks 13 by means of springs 19 upon the end faces perpendicular to the moving direction thereof are suitably maintained. |
