The heating system for e.g. radiators, using a heat pump, uses a circuit formed by an evaporator, a compressor and a condenser with an expansion valve. This is connected between a low temperature heat source and the radiators. A hot water storage tank has a heat exchanger at one end connected to the evaporator and another heat exchanger at the other end, connected to the condenser. The heat pump is operated so that heat is extracted from the low temperature source during the night to heat the water in the tank. During the day, heat is no longer extracted from the low temperature source, but is extracted from the water in the storage tank. The heat pump then circulates water through the radiators at a still higher temperature level.
|
