PURPOSE:To rationalize the cut-end chamfering operation by connecting a grinding arm provided with an abrasive buff to a crossarm adjutably in angle so that said abrasive buff contacts with the cut-end surface of a material to be ground, and grinding the cut-end circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:Rollers 12 are provided on the upper surface of a base 13, as a transfer apparatus C, and an arm 3 for a disc is made pivotable in parallel to the rollers 12. A cylinder 4 and the arm 3 mounted on a vertical cylinder 5 which drives vertically to provide an arm mechanism A. A grinding arm 7 provided with an abrasive buff 6 rotated by means of a motor at the end above the position where the cut end of a material 15 to be ground is located is connected to an crossarm 8 adjustably in angle so that the abrasive buff 6 contacts with the cut-end surface. One end of said crossarm 8 is pivotally supported by a supporting frame 9, and the other end is pulled by a spring 10, as a grinding mechanism B, which is provided inside the arm mechanism A. Thereby, the abrasive buff 6 rotates at high speed and grinds the cut-end circumferential surface of the laminated lumber 15. |
