The alkaline gas-tight accumulator has wound sinter strip electrodes and is partic. suitable for high current loads, because of the extensive electrode surface. The edge of the wound electrodes is in electric connection with a pole tap plate (3). The latter has a dependent tongue (10) which is bent back against the plate at a sharp angle and connected to the current tapping inner side of an accumulator cell lid (13). On the tongue are formed strips (11), tapering on either side and angularly bent, which form a resilient abutment against the polar tap plate. The deflection angle (gamma) of the tongues is greater than the friction angle (alpha) at the plate. The latter may be fitted with radially extending apertures (7). In this manner, the wound electrodes may be held down, and the accumulator can withstand shock treatment without current interruption.
