PURPOSE:To determine an interpolar abnormal occurrence accurately by detecting an interpolar condition according to the difference between the most advanced position where an electrode is fed toward a work and the present position of an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A digital scale 34 installed on an electrode support bar 32 generates a pulse Sp in a pulse direction when an electrode 10 descends, while the scale generates a pulse Sn in a minus direction when the electrode ascends. These pulses are inputted to a reversible counter 36. The content of the reversible counter 36 represents a difference between the most advanced position where the electrode 10 is fed toward a work 14 and the present position of the electrode 10. Said content is converted to an analog signal by means of a digital analog converter 40 and then in transmitted to a position distant from an electric discharge machining a device as an interpolar condition detecting signal. |
