A device for joining together the halves of a housing for holding electronic sub-assemblies, has a tolerance equalization device having a number of movably driven retaining elements for one half of the housing, and which are hydraulically joined to one another by means of a closed loop that a force exerted by a housing half on to a first retaining element is transferable via the closed hydraulic loop on to the additional retaining elements, and especially can be short-circuited.
