PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a display device. SOLUTION: This display device is a picture display device which has a display part 50 constituted of plural pixels 10 and a control part 20 performing the control of the display part 50, and the device has a D/A conversion part converting digital display data into an analog picture signal, and this D/A conversion part is constituted of a first D/A conversion part (low power- consumption D/A converter) and a second D/A conversion part (highly accurate D/A converter 11). When these two D/A conversion parts are compared from the view point of the power consumption at the time of operations, since the power consumption at the time of the operation of the first D/A conversion part is smaller than that at the time of the operation of the second D/A conversion part, the device outputs a converted analog signal to the display part 50 by operating either the first D/A conversion part or the second D/A conversion part in accordance with the command of the control part 20 and the display part 50 changes the number of independent display pixels of the part 50 in accordance with the command of the control part 20 and performs the display according to the analog picture signal. |
