PURPOSE:To make the formation of the developer uniform by providing a coating thickness regulating member for the developer disposed by having a clearance with respect to an image carrying body, and an air ejecting means ejecting air flow to the clearance part, to the front end part in the rotating direction of the developer carrying body in the opening part. CONSTITUTION:While a developer carrying body 4 tries to carry out the developer T regulated and stuck to prescribed thickness by a thickness regulating member 5 on its surface from a clearance d2 along with its rotation in an arrow direction, the air flow ejected from an ejection part 6a tries to prevent the carry-out of the developer T. The developer T near the clearance d2 is moved by these two forces, by which its triboelectrification charge is increased. Therefore, the developer T having obtained the high charging charge sticks strongly to the body 4, and is carried by passing the clearance d3 between the mouth edge of the port 6a and the body 4 without being dislodged by the air flow. On the other hand, the developer T of the small charging charge is prevented from being carried out by the air pressure and therefore the uniformly thin developer layer having obtained sufficient frictional charge is formed on the surface of the body 4. |
