PURPOSE:To prevent the heat exchanger from corrosion due to sea water by a method wherein an iron material is attached to the internal surface of the sea water inlet end of a condensing pipe and after a lapse of a predetermined time from the time of starting the heat exchanger, an electric anticorrosion device is actuated to form a corrosion resistance film within the condensing pipe and to prevent electrically the iron material mounting section from corrsion. CONSTITUTION:An iron sleeve 3 is fitted in the internal surface of the cooling sea water inlet end of the condensing pipe 1 made of copper or a copper alloy and is brought into electric contact with the condensing pipe 1 so that a battery is formed locally at the end of the condensing pipe and iron ions effuse from the sleeve 3. The iron ions react against sea water and from an iron oxide type corrosion resistant film on the inner wall of the pipe behind the sleeve 3. Thus, when the corrosion resistant film is formed to a sufficient degree after a lapse of a predetermined time from the initiation of operation of the heat exchanger, an electric anticorrosive operation is performed to control the effusion of the iron ions from the sleeve 3 to thereby prevent the sleeve mounting section of the condensing pipe from corrosion.
|
