发明名称 NICKEL-ZINC ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the capacity and life of a nickel-zinc alkaline storage battery by using a sintered nickel electrode with reduced porosity, zinc electrode and a separator with a thickness in a specific range, and controlling the apparent current density on the zinc electrode below a specific value. CONSTITUTION:Sintered nickel electrodes and zinc electrodes wrapped several times with separators of polyethylene etc. are placed alternately to form a nickel- zinc alkaline storage battery. Where, a sintered nickel electrode which is sintered at a higher temperature than in conventional processes and is less in porosity is used in this storage battery. The zinc electrode is formed by applying and filling a mixture of zinc oxide and a conducting agent on a porous plate of a wire net and pressing it to a thickness of 0.6-0.8mm., and the thickness of a separator wound around the above member is defined to 25-30mu. By using the zinc electrode and controlling the apparent current density below 0.011A/cm<2>, the deposition of dendlite can be prevented.
