An olefin/maleic acid anhydride copolymer comprises units derived from an olefin containing on average from 8 to 24 carbon atoms. These copolymers, which may be produced in the conventional manner, are excellent lubricants in the moulding of plastics. These copolymers need only be added to the plastics material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, to be formed in small quantities and the effects thereof may be co-ordinated as internal and external lubricants in such a way that risks of incompatibility are obviated and optimum processing conditions are established. |
