<p>PURPOSE:To transmit a high-quality picture, by performing low compression and high compression in intra-frame orthogonal conversion and by subjecting respective conversion outputs to inter-frame or inter-field coding. CONSTITUTION:Conversion output 306 converted orthogonally by orthogonal converting circuit 305 is applied to bit compressing circuit A307 and bit compressing circuit B308. The applied signal is compressed low by bit compressing circuit A307, and the output is applied to subtracting circuit 311 and switch circuits 319 and 321. The applied signal is compressed high by bit compressing circuit B308, and the output is applied to subtracting circuit 312 and switch circuits 319 and 321. Either signal 317 or 318 is selected by switch circuit 337 and is applied to adder 320 and switch circuit 319.</p> |
