The work in a factory is controlled by a computer (24). At work stations (26) there are time clocks which can receive, as input, the identity of individual workers and the tasks to be performed by those workers. The computer (24) can then monitor the progress of work in the factory and the performance of each worker. The time clocks can be adapted to deliver congratulatory expressions when a task is completed ahead of schedule. Similarly, a time clock (42) for recordal of the attendance of workers at the factory can be adapted to deliver a welcoming greeting to those workers who report for work before the scheduled starting time. <IMAGE> |
