<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature drop in the slab during the slab is conveyed, by covering the slab surface with a heat-resisting heat insulating material, and by conveying the slab together with this heat insulating material. CONSTITUTION:The roller conveyer 2 comprises parallelly arranged rollers rotated by the motor; this roll conveyer 2 is installed in the horizontal position between the continuous casting machine 1 and the heating furnace 9. Above the roll conveyer 2, an endless belt 6 is installed taking a prescribed distance from the roll conveyer 2 and in the horizontal position. The endless belt 6 is constituted of a sheet made of fibrous heat insulating material resisting temperatures >=1,000 deg.C formed in the fibrous style, knitted style or felt style, and the wire belts covering two sides of this heat insulating sheet; the endless belt 6 is laid across the driving roller 5 and the follower roller 8, and is supported by the carrier rollers 7.</p> |
