PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube which is capable of suppressing deviation in the tube axis direction of a shadow mask, and thence preventing irregularity in colors. SOLUTION: This cathode-ray tube comprises a pair of plate-like members 7 disposed in face to face, and a pair of supports 14 upholding each of the plate-like members 7 by being fixed with them, and a shadow mask 6 fixed to each of the plate-like members 7 under tension. Here the supports 14 have crank-like two levels of which the convex portion is disposed facing a shadow mask 6, and hence the shadow mask structure can be made smaller in its inner moment so that a displacement in the tube axis direction of the shadow mask is suppressed and also can suppress the deviation of q-values even if the shadow mask causes thermal expansion by striking of electron beams, in addition the shadow mask can be improved in magnetic shield property because gaps in the transverse direction of the tube axis are shield by the crank-like two level portions made of iron.
