The switching apparatus consists of an essentially cylindrical housing (1) and of electrical and/or electronic components which are provided in the housing and are connected to one another to form an electrical circuit (2). At least one influencing element (3) belongs to the electrical and/or electronic components. In addition, a connecting device (4) is provided for connection of a cable (5). The housing has an influencing region (8), a circuit region (9) and a connecting region (10); the influencing region, circuit region and connecting region of the housing designate the regions of the housing in which the influencing element, the electrical circuit and the connecting device are respectively entirely or predominantly provided. The housing consists of at least two housing parts, preferably of three housing parts (11, 12, 13). The housing parts have mutually facing boundary surfaces (15, 16, 17, 18) which run at an acute angle of, preferably, 45 DEG to the housing longitudinal axis (14). In consequence, the housing parts can be used in different functional positions with respect to one another. On the one hand, the housing parts can be assembled such that their housing longitudinal axes coincide, while on the other hand they can also be assembled such that their housing longitudinal axes form an angle of 90 DEG . <IMAGE> |
