PURPOSE:To enhance the shelf stability of a developer by combinedly adding hydroxyethyliminodiacetic acid and diphosphonic acid as sequestering agents to a composition for the developer contg. aromatic primary amine as a color developing agent and hydroxylamine salt. CONSTITUTION:A composition prepared by adding 0.5-100g/l hydroxyethyliminodiacetic acid and 0.01-20g/l diphosphonic acid as sequestering agents to aromatic primary amine as a color developing agent and hydroxylamine salt is used as a color developer. Hydroxyethyliminodiacetic acid alone is not very effective in preventing the oxidation of the color developing agent with iron salt mixed, and it can not prevent the formaton of an alkali metallic ion precipitate. The problems are solved by the combination of both the acids. Thus, the developer has enhanced shelf stability, and a superior image with less fog is obtd. |
