PURPOSE:To form an optical fiber cable which permits rapid and easy connection work by connecting plural pieces of optical fibers to a strip shape by means of filmlike connecting members, folding these and bundling the same to one piece by means of a covering material. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of optical fiber blank materials 2 coated with cushion layers 3 are connected by means of connecting members 5 consisting of a thermoplastic resin having flexibility (plastics or elastomer). Next, these are folded, and the outside circumference thereof is covered with a covering material 6, whereby an optical fiber cable is made. When the material 6 is removed, the respective optical fiber strands 2 are connected by the members 5, and therefore the strands 2 are surely identifiable, thus the above-mentioned cable permits easy connection work. |
