Electromagnetic stirrer for continuous casting plant - where billet guide and support rolls near stirrer are coated with layer of electric insulation

Cast billet with a molten core travels out of a mould and through a guide and support roll track. The track contains an electromagnetic stirrer; and the guide and support rolls exposed to the electromagnetic fields created by the stirrer are provided with an electrically insulated coating. The coating is pref made of a ceramic material with a high m.pt and is esp 0.1-5.0 mm thick. Used esp in the continuous casting of steel billets, slabs etc. Damage to the roll surfaces, is prevented with a consequent improvement in the surface quality of the cast billet or slab.
