The emergency door release is actuated by pressing a bar. It includes a mounting-sheet which is secured to each side of the door by a belt attachment encircling the whole door (1). A release is attached to the mounting-sheet and covered by a facing (7) which carries the bar (8) and slides into position over the outwardly directed edges of the mounting-sheet. An actuator is connected into the bar during installation, linking the bar to the door release.
