The process in which brine is passed from a concn. station through the bed is characterised in a region of salt saturation at the concn. station, in discarding the initial effluent from the regeneration and in returning the later effluent to the concn. station to concentrate it. It is carried out in an appts. comprising a saturation salt bed in a concn. vessel, means to start and stop the fresh brine circulation and the return brine flow, and means to control the brine level in the vessel. The process preserves the amt. of brine used, enables less appts. to be used and it is also simpler. |
