Pumping and water de-calcification unit for dishwasher - uses combined unit attached directly to washing bowl to decalcify water using resin ion exchanger and passes waste through ion regenerator

The pumping and water de-calcification unit for a dish washing machine is fixed directly to the washing enclosure (1) to obviate the need for any flexible hose coupling, and thus reduce the risk of leakage. Incoming water is pumped through a resinous ion- exchanger (7) which extracts the calciferous salts. At the finish of the washing cycle the water is passed to an outflow reservoir (8) then through a chamber (6) containing chemical salts. The outflow from the salts chamber (6) is coupled directly to the resinous ion exchanger chamber (7) to regenerate the resin in readiness for the next water inflow. Solenoid valves (9) incorporated in the unit control hot and cold water flow from their respective reservoirs (23,32) and to and from the de-calcification unit.
