PURPOSE:To ensure an easy-to-see display of liquid crystal, by providing the 1st and 2nd liquid crystal layers that can display the 1st and 2nd colors respectively and thus displaying the short and long hands in the 1st and 2nd colors, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An even space is secured between the front glass 1 and main glass 2 via the peripheral sealing material 3, and the 1st liquid crystal component 4 is enclosed. At the same time, the sealing material 8 is held between the rear glass 7 and the main glass 2 to enclose the 2nd liquid crystal component 9. For instance, the voltage is applied to both electrodes 5 and 6 of the component 4 to secure a red color display; and a deep blue display is given when the voltage is applied to both electrodes 10 and 11 of the component 9. The components 4 and 9 become transparent when no voltage is applied to the electrodes. The reflecting plate 12 is attached tight to opposite face to the common electrode 11 of the rear glass 7 to secure a good reflection of light. Thus the contrast is increased for the display liquid crystal segment pattern to obtain an easy-to-see display of liquid crystal. |
