PURPOSE:To make a nickel mesh to be strained, by using a ring made of a ceramic for supporting the mesh, and by thus taking advantage of the differences in linear expansion coefficient of nickel an the ceramic. CONSTITUTION:A mesh ring 11 is prepared by molding and sintering a ceramic such as steatite (linear expansion coefficient: 76), alumina ceramic (linear expansion coefficient: 62) or cullet (linear expansion coefficient: 78). A part 13 which is welded to a nickel mesh 12 is metallized with a metal such as molybdenum. Side walls of the ring 11 are coated with metal conductive films a, b and c. The nickel mesh 12 is put between the part 13 and a mesh-clamping ring 9 made of nonmagnetic metal such as nichrome or stainless steel to make the mesh 12 to be expanded, before the ring 9 and the mesh 12 are fixed to the part 13 by spot welding. Consequently, the large difference between the expansion coefficients of nickel and the ceramic enables the mesh 12 to be highly strained. |
