A process is proposed which is used for the production of paper sheets having a fast water mark in a sheet-formation apparatus. In the process, a differing dewatering of the paper fibre-water suspension introduced into the sheet-formation apparatus is achieved by means of a special sheet-formation substrate which, according to the water mark to be produced, is of differing water-permeability in places.
