PURPOSE:To produce a superconductor exhibiting superconductivity at above the b.p. of liquid N2 by calcining a powder mixture consisting of Y oxide, Ba oxide, and Cu oxide, crushing the calcined product, molding the crushed product, then calcining finally in oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:After calcining a powder mixture consisting of Y oxide (e.g. Y2O3), Ba oxide (e.g. BaO), and Cu oxide (e.g. CuO) at a temp. lower than the final calcination temp., then the calcined product is crushed to obtain fine powder. The fine powder is mixed with a binder and the mixture is granulated. A molded body is obtained by compression molding the granulated product. Then, the molded body is calcined at 950-1,200 deg.C in oxidizing atmosphere to obtain a Y-Ba-Cu-O type superconductor consisting of 10<=Y<=60atom.%, 20<=Ba<=50atom.%, 30<=Cu<=65atom.%. |
