Primer used in coating solid substrates with liquid, pasty or powdered coating agents consists of a crosslinked adhesive (I) with a Tg of -60 to 0 deg.C and a peel strength against V2A steel of min. 0.025 N/cm. (I) pref. is an acrylate (co)polymer, polyol crosslinked with polyisocyanates or (co)polyester crosslinked with melamine, urea, benzoguanamine or epoxide resins or esp. polyisocyanates. The primer is esp. for use in coating glass with PVC pastes and then if necessary with 2-component top coat lacquers based on polyurethanes. It adheres well to various solid substrates and to the coatings applied later.
