A device for the continuous centring of wooden beams and the like upon entry into a woodworking machine contains two tapered guide rollers which are arranged on a common, driven shaft in such a way as to be locked against rotation and laterally displaceable. The guide rollers are controlled by a motor-driven guide system in such a way that they take hold of the wooden beams in a positive manner and in each case guide them concentrically to the centre plane of the woodworking machine during entry into the woodworking machine. The device is especially suitable for the so-called curve or core saws in which the saw cut or saw cuts are also to run essentially parallel to centre lines of curved wooden beams.
