<p>PURPOSE: A method for installing a fuel vapor exhaust valve in a fuel tank is provided to supply the design of a single valve that is installed in a tank with different depths and to properly arrange the valve for stopping exhausting vapor in desirable or selected liquid fuel level in the tank. CONSTITUTION: A method for installing a fuel vapor exhaust valve in a fuel tank is composed of steps for mounting a mounting structure(38) having a valve mounting surface(40,42,44) in the tank; forming a valve body(12) having a valve vapor inlet(14) and a valve vapor outlet, disposing a valve member in the body to move between positions for preventing and allowing the flow of the vapor between the inlet and the outlet, supplying a mounting unit(20,22) that is extended out of the valve body, and arranging an elastic annular seal around the outlet; and inserting the valve body into the tank, joining the mounting unit with the mounting surface, and communicating the vapor from the tank by connecting the outlet.</p> |
