SUPERCHARGER FOR MOTOR CAR ENGINE

PURPOSE:To perform ideal supercharging over the whole operation range by providing the compressor of an exhaust turbo supercharger with an variable guide vane and automatically controlling the angle of the variable guide vane depending upon the operation status of an engine and the exhaust turbo supercharger. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust turbo supercharger 1 consists of a compressor 2 and a turbine 3. A variable guide vane 4 is providd in the compressor 2. The operation information of an engine 5 and the exhaust turbo supercharger 1 is input to a controller 8 and the variable guide vane 4 is actuated through an actuator 9. This can perform ideal supercharging over the whole operation range of the engine 5 and improve fuel consumption ratio, output performance, and exhaust characteristics.
