PURPOSE:To obtain pictures having good quality even in a slightly defective solid image pickup element by projecting an image passed through the same lens system, upon the same picture elements of three solid image pickup elements and by selecting the best one of their outputs. CONSTITUTION:An image passed through lens system 4 is formed on picture elements at the same positions of solid image pickup elements 1-3. Among those three image pickup elements, output 11 of element 1 is inputted to operational amplifiers 14 and 15, output 12 of element 2 to amplifier 14, and output 13 of element 3 to operational amplifier 15. Operational amplifier 17 compares the output potential, based upon the potential difference between signals 11 and 12 compared by amplifier 14, with reference potential 16 to generate the resulting potential difference as output 19. Operational amplifier 18, on the other hand, compares the potential, based upon the potential difference between signals 11 and 13 compared by amplifier 15, with potential 16 to generate the resulting potential difference as output 20. Switch 23 is controlled with control signal from switch selecting circuit 21 supplied with signals of outputs 19 and 20 to select and output a proper signal among signals 11-13 to terminal 24. |
