PURPOSE:To obtain a head having abrasion resistance, a long life and superior characteristics by melt-sticking a substrate having a magnetic head formed with a coil part and a core part by thin films as the 1st joining body to the 2nd joining body by way of joining glass under heating within the specific temp. range. CONSTITUTION:The part of the thin film magnetic head made by filling a nonmagnetic material (glass) 17 in the channel part 15 of a magnetic substrate 10 and constituting a coil 14, an insulator layer 16 and an upper magnetic material 11 is made the 1st joining body. The 1st joining body and a protecting substrate 13 of a nonmagnetic material as the 2nd joining body are heated at temp. elevating rates of 300-500 deg.C/hr, are pressed in air within the temp. range of 300-450 deg.C, and are melt-stuck by using platelike glass 12 of 30-500mu thicknesses cut out from a block of a joining glass (low m.p. glass contg. a large amount of PbO2). In this way, the glass 12 is prevented from being deteriorated by the reduction of PbO2 or crystallizing, and the degradation of the magnetic thin films 10, 11 is eliminated, and the head of high strength, a long life and good electromagnetic conversion characteristics is obtained. |
