PURPOSE:To obtain a practical combustible gas detecting element, which has improved concentration separating property and moisture resistance, by using indium oxide as the principal component, and adding thereto a given amount of manganese oxide and a given amount of oxide selected from magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, aluminium oxide and the like. CONSTITUTION:Indium oxide is used as the principal component in the active ingredient presenting a gas detecting power, and manganese oxide as the first subcomponent which is added thereto. All oxidation forms such as MnO, MnO2, Mn2O3 and the like are involved as said manganese oxide. Moreover, as the second subcomponent to be added to said mixture, one or more oxides are selected from magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, aluminium oxide, gallium oxide, germanium oxide, tin oxide and silicon oxide. Then, the proportion of the principal component to the first subcomponent to the second subcomponent is set to be 90-30%: 5-35%: 5-35% by weight. Thereby, the element resistance value is made practical, and the moisture resistance is improved. |
