<p>There is provided a method for correcting a detection position of a human face detected by using a face detection frame F. An image G in the face detection frame F is divided to the left half and the right half along the center axis C. The similarity between the divided images G-1 and G-2 as the mirror symmetric relationship is calculated. A position shift amount d and its direction when the similarity becomes maximum are obtained. After this, the face detection frame F is moved in the aforementioned direction by the position shift amount d. Thus, it is possible to correct the detection position shift by the face detection frame F at a high speed by a simple method.</p> |
