PURPOSE:Caryomycin or its salt is added to feed to increase the feed efficiency and body weight of ruminants. CONSTITUTION:Caryomycin is a polyether antibiotic called antibiotic T-42082 and is used in the form of a salt such as of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, preferably in the form of the sodium or potassium salt. The solid or liquid caryomycin preparation is added to feed or drinking water directly or together with a dluent. The diluent is, e.g., crude feed or concentrated feed and the liquid base is, e.g., the normal saline solution or an organic solvent. After other additives are combined, the caryomycin preparation is given by a daily dose of 3mg-1,000mg, preferably 10mg-500mg/head in growing cattles, i.e., 60mug-3mg, preferably 200mug-1.5mg/ kg body weight. |
