<p>The present invention provides a process for producing a N-sulphoalkane-aminoalkane phosphonic acids having the general formula wherein R1 is H CH3, C2H5, C6H5, CH2NH2 or C2H4PO3H2, R2 is H or PO3H2, R3=CnH2nSO3H or CH2PO3H2, where n is from 1 - 11 and R4= H (when R3 is other than CH2PO3H2) or CnH2nSO3H where n is 1 - 11 or a salt thereof which comprises reacting an aminophosphonic acids having the general formula wherein R1 is H, CH3, C2H5, CH2NH2, C2H4PO3H2, or C6H5, R2 is H or PO3H2, R? is H or CH2PO3H2 in an alkaline medium with an alkane-sulphonic acids or a alkali metal salt thereof in a molar ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 with heating said alkene sulphonic acid having the formula CnH2n-1SO3H, wherein n is from 2 to 11 and one hydrogen atom can be replaced by an SO3H or a phenyl group.</p> |
