PURPOSE:To intercept the heat generated between a brake disc and a friction pad and make a piston lightweight by forming the operating piston of a disc brake from the sintered body made of ceramics material. CONSTITUTION:As the ceramics sintered body used as piston material, the silicon nitride coupling body or silicon sintered body each of which is added with fillers in necessary is used. As the filler, at least one kind out of MgO, Mg MgO-Al2O3, or the mixture of these is selected, and in necessary, solid lubricant may be involved. The ceramic sintered body has low thermal conductivity, specific gravity, and thermal expansion rate than steel, and has equal strength, and shows superior thermal insulation effect, and weight can be reduced. |
