发明名称 COOLING AND SOLIDIFYING METHOD OF POLYESTER
摘要 PURPOSE:To cool and solidify molten tetramethylene terephthalate into a stringy or platy meterial having improved processing properties, e.g. cutting and drying properties to give chips, etc., by bringing the molten tetramethylene terephthalate into contact with hot water at a specific temperature to make spherulites occur and grow. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester consisting of terephthalic acid and 1,4- butanediol as main constituents and 75mol% or more tetramethylene terephthalate is molten at a temperature of the melting point or above, preferably 160-270 deg.C, and extruded through a nozzle into a stringy or platy shape. The resultant extrudate is then brought into contact with hot water at 30-70 deg.C for preferably 1-30sec to make spherulites occur and grow and whiten the polymer. Thus, the extrudate is solidified to a thickness of preferably 1-4mm..
