ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To reduce the open-circuit voltage of a copper oxide-lithium battery by adding pyridine in an electrolyte which contains lithium perchlorate as a solute and at least propylenecarbonate as a solvent. CONSTITUTION:A metallic collector 2 is welded in a case 1, and a metallic lithium sheet 3 is press-bonded on the surface to form a negative electrode. A positive electrode 5 which is formed by press-molding copper oxide powder is fixed on the inside surface of a case 4. Then the positive electrode 5, separator 7, and negative electrode 3 are impregnated with an electrolyte. The electrolyte which contains lithium perchlorate as a solute and at least propylene-carbonate as a solvent and to which pyridine is added is used. Thus the open-circuit voltage of a copper oxide- lithium battery can be reduced.
