PURPOSE:To make the character recognition speed high, by adding a function where it is decided whether the character pattern signal is present or not in one main scanning and the decision result is written additionally at the last of one main scanning when the character pattern is written into the line pattern memory. CONSTITUTION:Character pattern information detecting circuit 70 and quantized signal switching circuit 90 are added newly, and quantized signal from quantizing circuit 30 is input to character pattern information detecting circuit 70 and quantized signal switching circuit 90. Character pattern information detected from quantized signal 302 in character pattern information detecting circuit 70 is input also to quantized signal switching circut 90 as character pattern information signal 303. Quantized signal switching circuit 90 inputs quantized signal 302 as swtiching processing signal 304 to line pattern memory 40 during the main scanning and inputs character pattern information signal 303 as switching processing signal 304 to line pattern memory 40 at the last of one scanning. |
