PURPOSE:A tooth paste composition is produced using hydroxycellulose and an alkali metal salt of carboxymethylcellulose and/or carrageenan by specific amounts respectively as the main binder, thus improving the defects of binders such as threading. CONSTITUTION:As a tooth paste binder, a hydroxyethylcellulose, preferably including 1.6-2.5mol of added ethylene oxide, by more than 40wt% based on the total weight of the binders and simultaneously an alkali metal salt of carboxymethylcellulose with an etherification degree of 0.6-1.2 and/or carrageenan are added to improve the defects of hydroxyethylcellulose such as threading, swelling rate or dispersibility, thus giving a tooth paste composition with high shape retention, high resistance to separation into liquid and solid and high stability. At the same time, the defects of carboxymethylcellulose is improved and good shaping retention is kept, even when additionally stannous fluoride is added to lower the pH of the tooth paste. |
