PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the amount of insulating oil and to firmly fasten and hold a winding by forming the upper part of a transformer case with an upper cover providing a concave part and a clamping means for the winding is arranged to the upper cover. CONSTITUTION:The lower yoke section 2b of an iron core 2 is placed in the hollow part 1a' of a lower case 1a. And the yoke section 2b is firmly clamped by clamps 13. Next, a winding 3 is placed on the flange section 1a'' of the lower case 1a. Next, a transformer body 4 is completed by inserting the upper yoke section 2c of the iron core 2 into the leg section 2a of the iron core 2. Next, the cases 1a and 1b are united by engaging the upper case 1b with the lower case 1a from the upper part of the main body 4. Next, a cover 1c is installed on the upper yoke section 2c so that the upper yoke section 2c of the iron core 2 may position in the hollow section of the upper cover 1c and the cover 1c is jointed and welded to the upper flange section of the case 1b.
