PURPOSE:To obtain a hermetically enclosed lead storage battery with high volumetric efficiency, no projecting terminal and a long service life by accommodating a group of plates in a battery jar having a specific thickness and molded in one body with a bottom face having openings. CONSTITUTION:A group of plates 5 are accommodated in a battery jar 1 having 0.1-0.8mm thickness and molded in one body with a bottom face having at least one opening 3 for connecting plate lugs 13 to terminals and an opening 10 leading to a safety valve. Wall thickness of the battery jar is reduced so as to sharply improve its volumetric efficiency in this way. Thereby, a hermetically sealed lead storage battery with high volumetric efficiency, no projecting terminal and a long service life can be obtained. |
